Steam Train Ride

When we went for a train ride at Zig Zag Railway, the steam trains were broken down.   Bro. Norman  has been wanting to go back as soon as they were fixed.    So far they are having trouble finding someone to fix them.     No one seems to know how anymore.     Let alone able to get parts.

Sat. Sept. 8 we finally got to ride on a Steam Train.    It came right here to Orange and gave rides to all those that wanted to pay $25 per adult.    Bro. Ron invited us to go with him and Bro Norman.   We invited some other friends of Norm's too.   Lilly and John Paul.   Bro Ron got the tickets and we all paid him for them.    The train took several trips to Spring Hill and back to Orange during the day.  We got on the 2:00 pm trip.   Spring Hill is only about 10 miles to the South of Orange.   We arrived at the station just as it was being pulled back by a Diesel Engine.

The trip took 25 min to travel to Spring Hill.

Bro Ron, an old train man himself, brought some chocolate lollies to share.
He said to make the train ride official we had to be eating lollies.

Bro Ron presented Elder T with a railway cap

Here is the steam floating by.  It is nice and white when  the train is rolling along smoothly but when it has to work harder the smoke gets black.  You  then know that the coal is being shoveled in.

Here are a few shots inside the train.

This  is the narrow corridor running along side the booths

8 people could fit in each booth

We only had the 6 of us in ours.

The train then stopped right there, smack dap, in the Dead Center of town.
It's such a lovely place, people are just dying to go there.   This place is  BURIED with memories.

We were then pulled back to Orange with the Diesel Engine

Here is Elder T and Bro. Norman getting off the train.
Bro. Norman and Bro. Ron, being the train men they are, were very very disappointed that the Steam train was pulled back to Orange by a Diesel Train Engine.
There was no room for the Steam Engine to turn around there in Spring Hill.

It was still a fun ride for us Novice Rail Road Riders
